Tascam has updated its DP-02 ($799) and DP-02CF ($499) digital Portastudio recorders with new effects, a new display, and more.
The DP-02CF, which records to CompactFlash media, comes with 2 XLR mic/line inputs with phantom power; 8-track recording at 16-bit, 44.1 kHz; and 2-band EQ per track. It also includes a 1 GB card.
The DP-02 records to an internal 40 GB hard drive instead of CompactFlash. This recorder features a multieffect processor, stereo reverb, and a CD-RW burner.
Both the DP-02 and DP-02CF offer a Portastudio-like interface with volume fader, pan, effect send; high and low EQ controls per channel; USB 2.0; an internal metronome; bar and beat display; a headphone output; stereo line outputs (RCA and S/PDIF). Both units are now shipping.
